Striped Dresses

I absolutely love the versatility of a striped dress.  It’s my favorite in classic colors like navy and white.  It can be worn in summer and taken into the winter.  I have one with ¾ sleeves that I bought in July and I have worn multiple times since then.  It’s easy to take a thin dress and make it winter ready- just layer!  A camel colored cardigan and leather jacket with some tights and booties and your set!  Or if you’re looking for a brighter look, try layering a bright colored blouse over the dress (turns the dress into a skirt- but with extra layers!) and a chunky knit over that.  Perfect polished chic!

Platform Pumps

YSL
Jessica Simpson

Christian Louboutin
When it comes to wearing heels, contrary to popular belief, the higher the platform the more comfortable they actually are.  I always hear girls complaining about how painful high heels are- well I love them.  I say if yours hurt, either you’re wearing the wrong pair, or you just need to suck it up.  For girls who are wearing the wrong pair, maybe the incline is too high, this can often make walking impossible.  Opt for a nice size platform and you won’t feel the ground beneath you, this is what makes them so comfortable.  Just be careful, that’s also how you can twist an ankle! :D

Winter White

What a gorgeous, crip colour white is.  As a believer in "no white after Labor Day" you definitly won't see me in bright white jeans, but be sure to catch me in off white- Winter White.  This colour is so classy and beautiful, and I really believe it looks great on every skin tone and hair colour.  I am really fair and for a long time I avoided this colour thinking it would wash me out.  But it is exactly the opposite.  Especially now that I have dark hair, it compliments my skin tone wonderfully.  The look of all white from head to toe definitely gives off an air of elegance and confidence.  But if thats too much white for you, try just an accessory, like maybe a bag or a jacket, with nuetral or even black clothing.  The hint of colour will be just enough to brighten up any outfit and make winter a little less boring.

fur vests

So this post is inspired by my idol Rachel Zoe.  She is definitely responsible for the revival and reinvention of the fur vest.  These vests are so lux and have such a commanding presence, they can make even jeans and a t-shirt look fabulous.  And for you animal lovers, there are so many gorgeous faux fur options out there, you can have this look and still be animal friendly.  Wear one with your favorite LBD and red lipstick for a glamorous look, or with riding boots and leggings.  Either way, you’re sure to get more than a few compliments.

Sweaters over dresses

I am loving this new way to give life to your otherwise spring and summer dresses.  It's simple and quick, and perfect for the girl on a budget.  You can even mix and match patterns.  I love the idea of a camel colored sweater layered over a striped dress.  Or even a classic and chic blazer works too.  Continue the layering with some fun tights, leg warmers and boots! Perfect for those chilly winter days!  Happy layering :]

The Leigh Boot

I must say, Kate Spade is one of my favorite designers.  I love the bright, quirky colors and the girly, playful designs. Such a refreshing look to instantly perk up any closet.  Feminine heels and a cute bright dress are things every girl should own.  They are adorable and sophisticated and just perfect for any outfit!

Holiday Party

Inspired by Kim Kardashian’s cover look in Lucky magazine,  these sequin/silvery/glittery mini skirts are perfect for the Holiday season, the right amount of glitz but can still be worn casually at a dinner party, or dressed up for a night on the town.  If you are looking for a more casual look, try pairing your skirt with a long cardigan or a button down top.  You almost want to put exact opposites together to tone down the brightness of the skirt, and then pair it with cute flats to keep the girly look or motorcycle boots to make it more edgy.
